EiA pg 33 Delay
on September 19, 2011 at 3:24 pmI promised to only miss the Tuesday deadline for Even in Arcadia during planned vacations or extenuating circumstances. Well, unfortunately extenuated circumstances have presented themselves.
I have a viral eye infection. It makes it pretty painful to look at anything, particularly a screen, for any length of time. As such, the next page is nowhere near done. I anticipate that my illness won’t last long (the kind doctors have provided me with some medical relief), but it will put a delay on the page. I would like to say I will have it up on Thursday, but it might be as late as Friday or Saturday if my eyes still hurt. Then we can get back to our regular schedule!
Thank you so much for your patience guys! I’m normally a very healthy person, so getting sick is a very trying ordeal… Plus the separation from my sweet sweet drawing addiction.

Get well soon!
Thank you! Your good wishes are a symphony to a sick girl’s ear
I also am glad to hear that you are healing up. My oldest daughter tried toughing out a similar illness and wound up in hospital for a few days.
So how does one travel between Arcadia and Gaia (Earth?)? Spaceship? Magic portal? [In any case be sure that your papers are in order citizen!]
Oh no, I hope your daughter made a full recovery! In general, my policy is not to tough out any illnesses, mostly because I used to get pneumonia when I was a kid (I had terrible lungs), and those are some of the worst memories I have. As soon as I get a fever, off to the doctor I go!
As for travel, most people travel by airship. I actually have a map of the world that I should probably post at some point, and some additional points of interest… an about section to the site would serve nicely.
The worst part of eye infections is the boredom that comes from not being able to do anything. Just take your time, get better, and we’ll see you when you return (and just because you don’t feel sick/pain doesn’t mean you’re better; wait a couple days after the effects are gone before returning to the comic).
It’s true, boredom is the worst. You don’t really realize how much you use your eyes for until you don’t have them anymore >.<
The infection is nice and cleared up now, and I went for a check up with my doctor who gave me the okay to get back on the computer. I will have the next page up shortly, actually, hopefully by the end of tonight, early tomorrow!
Gosh, it’s been awhile. Hope everything is okay.
Yep! Everything is fine now! It’s still cold season and I still work with hundreds of little bacteria ridden children, so sickness is a bit of an occupational hazard
Just got all caught up wit this. I’m diggin it so far.
Hope you feel better soon.
My cold ended up returning like a terrible horror movie sequel, but in truly authentic fashion it is much weaker than the original. I’m just left with an annoying cough and the occasional bought of tiredness. The comic is keeping me going though, I just can’t bear to not have it done and miss a week. I’d rather it be late when I’m sick than not at all
