Day 136: Bailey Giordano Page 8
by Anise on Aug.04, 2010, under Anise's Blog, Not So 9 to 5
Here’s the next page! I’m really on a roll this week, which is good. I need to be in order to have my comic ready for the next few conventions I’m going to.
Having very little money right now is also a good motivator. I’m making art for my supper! I’m sending my Anime Evolution poster to the printers tomorrow as well, but I won’t be able to post that image until the end of the convention. It’s the painting on the three day adult pass.
If I have page 9 finished tomorrow, I will be in heaven.
Day 135: LBG Pg 7 and Fan Art Commission
by Anise on Aug.03, 2010, under Anise's Blog, Not So 9 to 5
Here’s the page that I finished in my video tutorial, up and ready for everyone to read!
I have so many pages to tone that I don’t even know where to start O.o Additionally, I destroyed Wei’s power cord for his computer, so I have to let him use mine out of principle. So I’m on the older desktop computer at my moms. After so many years of using laptops, it’s weird yet refreshing to be stuck in a room with a desktop. Laptops can make me feel lazy.
Along with the new page, I also completed a piece of fan art of Jonathon Dalton’s Lords of Death and Life as per his request. He also got a Xeric grant and he wanted some extra art for the back of his book when he printed it. I wasn’t his first choice (*cry*), but I was flattered to be asked nonetheless.
This was the first image I digitally inked in Manga Studio. I have officially fallen in love with inking in that program. People had always been telling me how great it is, and now I believe them. I’m going to try a few pages of LBG to see if it’s a viable alternative to pulling out the quill pen and ink bottle all the time.
This picture was also coloured in photoshop. Soon I’m going to have a hankering to do a traditional painting. That always happens when I work in digital for too long.
Check out my piece, and don’t forget to take a minute to read Jonathon’s comic.
Day 134: Toning LBG
by Wei on Aug.02, 2010, under Anise's Blog, Not So 9 to 5
I spent yesterday live streaming and commentating on how I tone the Liberation of Bailey Giordano. I’ve just started using Manga Studio for things like speech bubbles and aligning everything for print. Not to mention turning everything into a 2 bit printing scheme for money’s sake.
If you’re interested in how I tone, take a look. I don’t think I do it the way other people do, mostly because I didn’t really look up how other people do it. I just kind of rest on my digital painting and photo manipulation knowledge.
Fair warning: the video is 2 hours and 20 minutes long. I recommend skipping through and watching parts that interest you. I’m slow :P
