Welcome to the Atheneum
Making webcomics is a difficult endeavour, comics as a medium itself is time consuming and slow, often begrudgingly dragging creators both through a labyrinth of deadlines, concept work, story development and finally drawing the pages themselves. Webcomics often compound the issue because there is no industry, no one to pay artists in advance so that they can leave their grinding 9-5 jobs to bring their stories to life. Webcomics live off of the generosity of their readers, and luckily we have some of the most dedicated and amazing readers in any form of entertainment. Wei and Anise created the Atheneum as a subscription site for anyone who donates ANY amount to Epidigm.net. The donations help to support and keep our comics, like Even in Arcadia, free for all readers.
It's really our way of saying thank you. Comics are hard, but we love them. We want to spread that love as far as we can.
How to Donate
Just click the "donate" button to the right and enter the amount you would like to contribute through paypal or credit card. After confirming your payment, you will be brought to a receipt page that will contain a password that you can use on this site for all of the protected posts. Most browsers will create a cookie when you use your password, so you won't need to type it more than once until you clear your cookies or saved passwords.
What You Get
There will be exclusive content uploaded every week, including wallpapers, icons, avatars, sketches, tutorials and special discussion threads. No matter when you donate, you will have access to the full site archive FOREVER. This is also the first place you will hear about new projects, events and other special things going on at Epidigm.
Artist Trading Cards
Any donation over $7 will receive a limited edition, signed artist trading card in the mail. There will be a new trading card each month, so be sure to check back at the beginning of the month to see if the new one tickles your fancy. These will be mailed out on a month by month basis, because I have to take print costs and mailing costs into account, so you will receive the ATC for the month you donated. If you'd prefer an ATC from a previous month, please specify which one in the comments when you donate through paypal.
