Page 24! The end of this short story! D:

First off, I would like to thank all of the fabulous people who supported us during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Without people like you guys, independent comics wouldn’t be able to function. It’s pretty much impossible to do comics as a hobby, so most artists have to settle for part time jobs or even take time off to finish their projects and it’s always nice when you can get a little bit of money to keep supporting the time (and print runs) it takes to make an indie comic.

I would also like to point out that we are at the end of this first Tomato Chicken story. I don’t have a new arc planned for the next while, but there will be recipe comics! This Friday will be the super special extra update with our second recipe and then a new recipe will be updated once a week on Tuesdays. I’m planning, thumbnailing and starting to draw a new comic that will be up in the beginning-middle of January, so a new Tomato Chicken story won’t be in the works for the next few months. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy doing a little cooking!

Page 22!

I think I’m going to eat a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. It combines the goodness of melted cheese with the irresistibility of grilled. Not to mention it fills my heart with a happiness that can only be obtained by that magic combination.

Page 20 is up on time and at a reasonable hour. What?

I had a request from my dear friend Nuu to do another installment for the Graphic Novels 101 section of Epidigm. I’ve done two, the first one as an introduction and the second on cinematography. The third will be on character design and will be up on the epidigm mainpage tomorrow morning. Probably just before Days of Leviathan updates.

After the whole copyright and cooksource debaucle, I’ve been kind of interested in recipes and copyright law. This is quite pertinent to this comic, because I’m a cook like no other. I’ve used recipes, altered them and make them into something new. I had been wondering for a while if I could use those altered recipes in my comic recipes section when I finish this story line. The early research answer? Yes. Especially because I’m drawing them, and that’s the “copyrightable” section of a recipe anyways. Lists of ingredients can’t be copyrighted, and since my flourishes are in drawing I’m good to go.

This being said, people are more than welcome to repost the recipes where they wish. Remember that the images are under a by attribution creative commons license, meaning if you repost the image or a derrivative of the image (like a crop, redrawing or anything based enough on the work that it’s not completely new) that you have to put it under my name, not your own. A link back would be greatly appreciated too!

Oh, and it’s a non-commercial license! So, no profiteering on my comic recipes, good citizens of the internet! Although, if you find some sort of magic way to make more money at it than I am, do share. I love business ideas!
